March 3rd - Sunshine Cast Championships
On March 3rd a number of our students competed in the Sunshine Coast Championships hosted by Shihan Wayne MacDonald and the Karate Budokan International. This was an enjoyable, well run tournament for the first outing of the year. All our competitors performed well and some medals were won.
Blake Tillema, Kata - 2nd, Kunite - 1st in Boys U14.
Caitlin Edwards, Kata - 3rd in Girls U12.
Damen Prins, Kata - 3rd in Boys U12.
Emerson McMillan, Kumite - 3rd in Girls U14.
Jenny Brazil, 1st in Kumite - Women's 35+ and 2nd in Kumite Women's Grand Final.
Mark Richardson 2nd in Kumite, Men's +45.

December 4th - ISKA Australasian Championships
Three of our students went back to Sydney and competed in the ISKA Australasian Championships. All entries were invite only based on performance at the World Cup in October.

October 21-23 - ISKA 16th World Cup Championships - Liverpool, Sydney NSW
The Redlands Karate Dojo competed this weekend in Liverpool, one of the western suburbs of Sydney. With 3000 spectators, 1000 competitors and twelve rings, the competition was fierce, the days were long and the rewards large.
With both international and local students competing, the tournament proved to be both diverse and challenging. The Dojo did exceptionally well and brought home five 1st places, four 2nd places and two 3rd places.
